Charity – April 2002

Charity Update

For the month of March, your lodge will be making a $300 contribution to the Shriner’s Hospital. In January, we made a $200 contribution to the Rainbow Girls. We’re trying to include a mix of charitable activities, including a focus on Masonic organizations, such as the upcoming Shriner’s Hospital and Masonic Home, and a focus on Community Improvement, such as activities relating to the homeless, orphaned children, and the Hibiscus Lodge No. 275 Scholarship in Honor of Robert Tendrich. If you have an idea for a charitable activity or cause, please contact any of the Charity Committee members. This month, we’re looking for suitable candidates for the Hibiscus Lodge No. 275 Scholarship in Honor of Robert Tendrich. We’ll be contacting a number of local schools, seeking nominations from school administration for students who have overcome significant obstacles, shown outstanding character, and who would serve well as role models for other students. If you know of a young person in our community who may meet these criteria, we would definitely like to hear from you. Thanks for the interest and enthusiasm you have shown for Hibiscus Lodge charitable activities. We want you to enjoy this wonderful and important component of Masonry, and we encourage you to stretch you cable tows in an effort to be part of the fun.
